Scheffer Headstones
Home Up

News flash!

I finally found the Scheffer family.  They all seem to be buried in remote Northwest Montgomery County, Texas.

VERY MUCH thanks to Donna Durfey (sunnir@lcc.net) for helping me to find these people on her land.

Lowry Cemetery is a private cemetery on the land owned by the family of Donna Durfey.  It can not be accessed without the express consent of the family and if you do get permission, BRING A TRUCK!  It is WAY off in the woods.  According to Donna, at one time there were many homes and other roads that got closer to this cemetery.

You may email Donna if you see a need to go here.  She is more than happy to help and has a wonderful family.

Buried here without a headstone is Blanche Scheffer-Blake, died in 1917 in child birth.  The child she died with is also buried here in an unmarked grave.  Other grave sites that actually have headstones are shown below:

and a few others that I did not get pictures of.
